Join us for a movie, pizza, and a discussion!

As part of the “ELMHURST READS: Joyce Carol Oates” program, we’ll watch and discuss the movie Smooth Talk based on the author’s prize-winning short story "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?" Then, for those who are interested, we’ll walk over to Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel at Elmhurst College to hear Joyce Carol Oates in person at 7:30pm.

The story and movie are about fifteen-year-old Connie who likes to hang out at the mall with her friends and flirt with boys. One day when she is home alone, a strange man shows up at her door…

This program is for high school students. Pick up a copy of the short story in the Teen Area or at the 2nd floor Information Desk. Register for this program by e-mailing eplteen@gmail.com.

Teen Open Mic Night has been cancelled

Since there were only 3 responses, Teen Open Mic Night on Feb. 20th has been cancelled. We will try this event at another time.
